This delightful sugary centerpiece is sure to get the party hoppin'!
You gotta love an edible centerpiece! Candy skewers are a great way to add color to a party and, when packaged, are a great party favor as well. Chocolate is traditionally and Easter favorite but I always prefer to opt for the option that gives me the "wow! I didn't even think of that!" reaction from my guests.
I used standard bamboo wooden skewers from the Dollar Store. PRO TIP: Soak the skewers in water before piercing the candy through to make your life a little easier (the sour sugar coated candies tend to be a bit tougher and the wet skewer allows for them to glide on a heck of a lot easier).
I'm all about reusing what I have and avoiding spending wherever possible when planning a party. Party planning can get quite costly and you end up tossing a lot of the more unique decor items in storage and forgetting they ever existed (sad!). I'm always drawn to more adaptable items such as this simple white vase which I have reused countless of times. I tied some lace and satin ribbon around it to jazz it up.
PRO TIP: Make sure your container is heavy in weight or else it'll time once the candy skewers are in. For extra support, cut a piece of Styrofoam to fit the container and punch the bottom of the skewers in the Styrofoam. No more wobbling!!
I printed Bunny Ears onto cardstock paper and taped another bamboo wooden skewer to the back and placed it within the skewers for an extra Easter touch! Add the ears to floral arrangements or as a cake topper as well!
